Funny Pages

I've always been a fan of simple gift wrapping, so when I got a box of legos for a friend's son, I grabbed the sunday comics and went to town.

"What Kind of Films You Like to Take?"

A slow day at Stones Throw made it possible for me to work on my small contribution to Space Movies, an ongoing collaboration between Tiimo Schulze and Paul Cooley to produce the most ridiculously necessary design in the Milky Way Galaxy and beyond...

The End Is Near

"For dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return." Genesis 3:19

dust. is a publication I spent this past semester building from the ground up about the apocalypse as rebirth, calling upon the old "ashes to ashes, dust to dust" homage. It's content consists of many different writings, interviews, and even songs about the apocalypse as it pertains to nuclear, biblical, and astrological ends.

Heavy stuff, I know. It does, however, take a suprising turn by introducing content about regeneration, and being able to rise from the ashes, preaching the cyclical idea that what we see as an end, becomes a new beginning.

The process was intriguing as we started with three visual interests to generate ideas for subject matter, and both formal and conceptual design decisions. My three? Kachina dolls, 70s computer technology, and medical diagrams. Evident? I think so, but you can be the judge.

Where I Got Lost

A past due posting, to say the least. This last semester just about killed me, but look at all the stuff I've made...well, some of it. More to come, later.

Also worth mentioning:
1.I'm officially an intern at Stones Throw Records, looking forward to having a good time over there.

2. I'm officially going to see The National on Saturday evening. If you're not familiar, GET FAMILIAR. I even get to attend the show with resident fine gentleman Paul Cooley, to whom I owe many things.

Slacking

I think I should finally start to put some of my work up here. It will slowly leak into the blog after i get around to scanning certain things, so be patient. For now, here is a drawing and painting piece I did for JT's class. We were asked to combine a person that we admired, our favorite animal, and a piece of artwork that we enjoyed. Mine? Einstein, a fox, and the album artwork for Radiohead's Kid A. I'll get around to putting up actual design work in the near future.
